This Post Office is located Up Goodyears Creek on an old spur road.
For many years the Goodyears Bar Post Office was in the Bachels Hotel building.
However, In the 1950's, the post office was moved to the little building where it is now located on the
Post Office Spur Road. The beautiful gold-laden creek that comes down from Mountainhouse through the
Brush Creek Mine and meets Rock Creek at Goodyears Bar got its' name from
Mr. Woodruff, the first postmaster. Mr. Woodruff also
had a store in Goodyears Bar that was a pyramid shaped building made of logs.
