Al Pratti, a longtime resident of Downieville has researched the story of the Hanging of Juanita from the Jersey Bridge, July 5, 1851. This account is on www.goodyearsbar. Al Pratti and wife, Doris Pratti have lived in Downieville for a number of years. Al authors a weekly article, Pratti's Windmill, for The Mountain Messenger - the oldest weekly newspaper in California. Al's orginial article, The Riffles was a weekly fishing article.
