Grizzly Peak over looking Goodyears Bar. This majestic mountain peak Overlooks Goodyears Bar and Goodyears Creek. Golden Eagles nest here to keep a watchful eye over the area. This has been its name since the white man arrived. In the 1840's, the indians used this beautiful mountain as a lookout point to watch over the area. One can hardly come to Goodyears Bar without first noticing this mountain peak. Legend has it that a young Indian maiden was pushed to her death by a jealous lover. If one listens very carefully on a misty morning, her piercing scream may still be heard. This peak has been mined for gold. Indians and miners have used this lookout point named Grizzly Peak. I can remember, Mr. Stran, and his burro going slowly up to his mine just below the peak. I have seen very nice speciments that were recovered from this mine. Today, Dave O'Donald has re-opened the mine with great expectation (verbatim re: Cy Rollins).
