Do you like the idea of camping but tents, bugs, and portapotties leave you less-than -enthusiastic? The Riverside Inn gives you the best of both worlds. We're deep in the Tahoe National Forest, at the bottom of a canyon, surrounded by the Sierra Nevadas. The Riverside Inn is in the fork of the Downie and Yuba rivers. You enjoy the view of a camp fire, we have fireplaces. All our rooms have a balcony overlooking the Downie River. You can leave the balcony door (yes, we have security screens) open and let the river lull you to sleep. Each room has its own bathroom so you don't have to stand in line for a shower! About half the rooms also have a kitchenette. We have a two-room suite that can sleep eight people. After a good night's sleep, you can hike, mountain bike, fish, pan for gold, mountain climb, or--depending on the season--snowshoe, cross-country ski, or build a snowman. If you just want to relax, you can lounge on your balcony or the riverbank with a good book or a bottle of wine. There is STILL gold in these here hills. Click any R for our websites.Riverside Inn  Downieville, California Looking for a place to do some gold panning, mountain biking, fly fishing, kayaking on the Yuba River, photographing a historic town, back country skiing?
