Tommy Smith in front of Middaugh Cabin Restoration
Thanks for donating Time or Money
Middaugh was a turn-of-the-century miner from northern California. He built a miner's cabin to live in while he mined for gold.
However, time passes by, and it was only yesterday that the Middaughs lived in this cabin and mined.
Since then, time has taken its toll on Middaugh's cabin. The cabin needs rebuilding or will deteriorate beyond repair.
The Forest Service is tearing down these oldSierra Countymining cabins as fire hazards. GoodyearsBar.com wants to save as many of these
oldSierra Countycabins as possible. The Forest Service
has agreed to the restoration of the Middaugh Cabin. A team of Sierra County residents has completed
major work on this important project located in California. The following pictures show the work completed in 2005-7. In the year,
2008, work has continued on The Middaugh Cabin Restoration Project. This is a way to help restore
and preserve the History of Sierra County.
